A loud shriek erupted suddenly, ripping the peace of the girls dormitory in shreds. Every girl left their respective beds in panic, trailing the harrowing cry in quick steps, and from every nook and cranny of the dormitory, the pattering of footsteps resonated. Soon, every feet found their way to the last floor, where Aria was writhing in tears on the floor of her room.
Every eyes turned to the ceiling where the lifeless body of Aria's roommate, Sonia dangled freely from the ceiling fan. It was what resembled a su***de act with the rope still firm, and the knot firmly gripping her neck. Her chest was bare, revealing a blood inscription that ran through her breasts all the way to her loins. Her open eyes had turned crimson with blood trickling down to the rest of her semi-nude body.
Everyone were literally stunned by the horrific sight bared before them. This was the second strange death the dormitory would record in only a space of two weeks. The first had come when Anna had jumped from the last floor of the dormitory to her death, and no one had discovered it until the morning of the following day. The same blood inscription was found on her palm.
The ill news soon spread throughout the whole school like wildfire, and the security officers were attracted to the scene. Some of the girls had successfully pulled Sonia out of the room in a bid to console her while they awaited the response from the school authority.
Six men from the security response team had arrived the dormitory, maneuvering their way through the bodies of witnesses down to the heart of the scene. They assessed the co**se for a while before dispersing the girls who kept lurking around. The men worked their way up and skillfully unhung the cold body from the ceiling before departing with it. Some of the girls trailed them weeping and mourning, others stood in twos and threes talking in low voices.
"Did you see that?" Reeta, the most dreaded girl in the dormitory whispered to her closest subordinate, Fatima.
"See what?" Fatima replied "You mean the blood inscription?"
"Not really, I mean the rings on her fingers" Reeta replied
"No, I didn't notice" Fatima snapped "I was already caught up in the horrific sight. Who would have thought Sonia of all person would..."
"I need that ring by nighfall" Reeta cut in
"Wait! what!?" Fatima voiced apprehensively "Why? but her co**se is already gone"
"I'll inform the rest of the girls while you keep an eye on the co**se. We are invading the mortuary tonight" Reeta declared, bit her lower lips and headed for her room.
