Special Invitation: Princess Faderera Gets Married in Ibadan!
She knows who she is -woman, powerful and proud. Princess Faderera won't marry just because society thinks she must but because the man that will have her hand must be a good man, willing to go the extra length to win her. The men who go after her keep falling short until one applies his brain rather than manly ego or brute force.
But, The Marriage of Princess Faderera goes beyond winning a princess' hand. It's about the survival of our country, Nigeria. It points to the need to think outside the box and look to uncharted territories for solutions to our age-old problems. It calls to the young ones to dare to be defiant and to the old ones to seek news ways to solve old challenges. The Marriage of Princess Faderera invites all to consider intertribal, interreligious, intercultural relationships as key to our survival.
Written by Ònkòwé Femi Onileagbon and directed by the multitalented Segun Bash (Mr. Superior), the libretto that wowed the audience with its rich offering of dance, comedy, music, and beautiful dialogue at the FESTINA in Lagos makes its way to the iconic University of Ibadan in the historically impressive and creatively rich city of Ibadan, land of Ogunmola.
Get out of the house, go with friends and family to the Wole Soyinka Theatre at UI on October 22 @ 4pm and have a great laugh and a good time, and kick out stress while you're at it.
