‘s new album sweet die!
It’s a commendable risk.
The effort is an ‘A+!
I mean, if he wants this played in clubs and unconventional hemispheres where others are dominant, this is it. It’s not like it, it’s it!
Doctrinal brouhaha aside, this is so good. (Brouhaha, because of the SM drags — as doctrine isn’t brouhaha at all). I respect believers’ concerns but obviously, TG wanted to hit our faces with a controversy and it worked.
Anyway, I absolutely recommend listening to this album. It blessed me. It feels good to listen to the works I admire with some godly lyrics while retaining the qualities that make the dominants what they are.
If Tim Godfrey’s market target (as we call it in industry) are the pro-afrobeats and pro-afropops, he has them!
Can I also say, that Tim has said the same things he’s always said in his previous albums. He’s just saying it in a different way.
I look forward to songs like “Praise The Lord”, “Goodness and Mercy”, “Cho Cho Cho” and “Testimony” resonating with the Afro-centric church system and them becoming widely accepted like we did “Nara” and “Na You Be God”.
I wish Tim Godfrey success on this detour.
