J. Cole grew up moving between military housing and a trailer park in Spring Lake, North Carolina.
Then his family moved into a two-story house at 2014 Forest Hills Drive in Fayetteville after his mother remarried.
It was the first home where Cole had his own room.
More importantly, it was where he discovered that he could make music and started dreaming about a different future.
Years later, Cole bought that same house back for $127,000 through his Dreamville Foundation.
But he didn't buy it to live there.
Instead, the house became a home for single mothers and their children, who can live there rent-free for one year before another family takes their place.
The idea is simple: give children the same feeling Cole had when his family finally moved into that house — having a safe place to call home and enough space to dream.
Cole didn't just turn the address into the name of his famous album.
He turned the actual house into an opportunity for other families.
The house that helped change J. Cole's life is now helping change someone else's.
