There is good news for Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo.

The Rector of Benue State Polytechnic, Arc. Dr. Henry Ojobo, on Friday officially handed over a site for the construction of a new main gate, a modern security surveillance post, and an extension of the school’s perimeter fence.

The new gate will be located along the Makurdi-Enugu Federal Road.

The project is under the 2026 TETFund Special Intervention for Security Infrastructure.

Speaking during the event, the project consultant said the new gate, which will be located along the Makurdi-Enugu Federal Road, will include a top-notch security and surveillance post. He added that the contractor has two weeks to mobilize to site, with a completion period of fifty weeks.

In her response, the contractor assured management that the project will be executed according to approved specifications and delivered within the stipulated timeframe.

Arc. Dr. Ojobo described the project as a dream come true. He thanked TETFund for the intervention.

According to the Rector, the new entrance will boost the image of the Polytechnic, improve student enrollment, enhance economic activities in the host community, and strengthen security around the institution.

He charged the contractor to deliver on time and assured her of adequate security throughout the project.

RESTORING SECURITY IN ZONE C: SENATOR ABBA MORO DONATES MOTORCYCLES TO EDUMOGA YOUTHS MOVEMENT(EYM)

In a renewed effort to strengthen grassroots security and youth engagement in Benue South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, PhD yesterday donated three motorcycles to the Edumoga Youths Movement (EYM) to support community policing and intelligence gathering.

The donation is part of Senator Moro’s Security Support Initiative for Zone C, aimed at aiding local vigilance groups in responding quickly to threats and improving surveillance across communities.

The Chairman of Edumoga Youths Movement, Comrade Ochigbo Jonah appreciated the Senator and described the donation as "timely and life-saving." He pledged that the motorcycles would be used strictly for security patrols, emergency response, and community service.

Recall, Distinguished Senator Abba Moro had donated 150 motorcycles last month, to fight insecurity in the zone.
