BADAGRY MAN FACES LOSS OF BOTH HANDS, SEEKS URGENT HELP FOR N2MILLION SURGERY
A Badagry resident, Simeon Monday, has appealed to the public for urgent financial assistance to undergo a critical surgery as he battles a worsening medical condition threatening both his hands.
Simeon, who spoke with a CityMood Communications reporter at the organization’s office, recounted his ordeal, which began after a serious accident about three years ago. The incident, he said, left him with severe injuries affecting his hands and legs.
He explained that although doctors initially recommended surgery, it was delayed due to his high blood sugar level. Over time, he received treatment to stabilize his condition, and recent medical checks confirmed that his sugar level is now normal.
Following this improvement, Simeon said he was referred from Badagry General Hospital to Igando General Hospital in Alimosho for further treatment. However, after evaluation, doctors reportedly informed him that he would need to deposit N2 million before the surgery can be carried out.
He lamented that while one of his legs showed signs of healing, both his hands are deteriorating, with complications affecting his veins and bones, leaving them barely functional and worsening by the day.
“I have been going up and down seeking help. Any little money I get is spent on drugs because I cannot work in this condition,” he said.
Simeon is now calling on well-meaning individuals, organizations, and government agencies to come to his aid so he can undergo the surgery and prevent further deterioration.
