Hi guys, here's another illustration from yours sincerely
Titled: Humanity
When I painted this piece, my heart was focused on a single, powerful idea; Humanity.
I wanted to capture the beauty of selflessness, that ability to give, to serve, to support others, even when one is in need themselves. The central figure in the piece is a disabled lady, helping an old woman who has all her limbs intact. For me, it was a portrayal of pure love and compassion. A reminder that the human spirit, when rooted in kindness, knows no limits.
But as I was working on it, I realized that people around me see through their own lenses. Some questioned the scene, they felt it was unjust. "Why would someone with one leg be helping someone who has two? Isnβt it unfair?"
Their interpretation shifted into the political, likening the scene to the current situation in Nigeria, where many believe the weak (citizens) are constantly giving to the strong (leaders), who already have more than enough. I understood their perspective. We live in a time when many are weary of giving because of how often generosity is taken for granted or exploited.
Still, my message remains unchanged.
This illustration, for me, is a challenge to the viewer. Itβs asking: When last did you help someone, not because you had more, but simply because you could? Sometimes, those who have less are the ones who give the most.
