Appreciation on the Successful Hosting of Oza Carnival 2025
I convey my profound appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the entire people of Oza Community, both within the home and across the diaspora, for the successful hosting of the Oza Carnival 2025, held at Oza Primary School, Oza Community, from 27th to 29th December 2025. The calm atmosphere, strong participation, and impressive organization recorded throughout the period clearly reflect our shared commitment to unity, cultural heritage, and community advancement.
It is worthy of note that at a point during the preparatory stage, challenges arose that placed the continuation of the carnival in serious doubt, leading to discussions on the possibility of calling it off. However, through resilience, collective sacrifice, and the divine grace of God, these obstacles were overcome, and the carnival ultimately recorded the success we celebrate today.
I sincerely acknowledge the leadership and guidance provided by our traditional authorities, elders, community leaders, and other key stakeholders, the Oza Development Foundation (ODF) whose wisdom and timely interventions were pivotal to the eventual realization of the event. Your steady leadership helped steer the process through uncertainty to a successful conclusion.
I thank the Oza Development Foundation (ODF) led by Prof. Sunday Iyamu, the organizing committee led by Mr Felix Osagiede and other members of the organizing committee, volunteers, and all support teams whose dedication, discipline, and tireless efforts ensured effective coordination and smooth ex*****on. Your commitment and professionalism were central to the orderly conduct and overall success of the carnival.
I specially recognize EMON NIREN NEGBE, an association of Oza sons and daughters resident abroad, for their organized support and notable contributions toward the success of the carnival. Your unity of purpose, mobilization efforts, and sustained engagement added significant value to the planning and ex*****on of the event, and your support is deeply appreciated.
I equally extend sincere appreciation to the many other sons and daughters of Oza Community in the diaspora who, individually and collectively, supported the carnival in various capacities outside formal associations. Your financial assistance, advisory roles, and moral support greatly strengthened community participation and enhanced the success of the event.
Special commendation is accorded to the youths of Oza Community for their active involvement, discipline, and exemplary conduct throughout the carnival period. Your energy, creativity, and sense of responsibility reflect the promise and leadership potential of our community’s future.
I also acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the women of Oza Community, cultural troupes, musicians, dancers, and artists whose performances brought life, colour, and cultural depth to the carnival. Your displays proudly showcased the richness of our heritage and shared identity.
I express sincere gratitude to our sponsors, partners, friends of the community, and well-wishers whose support, goodwill, and encouragement contributed in no small measure to the success of the carnival.
The success of Oza Carnival 2025 stands as a collective achievement, made possible through unity, cooperation, perseverance, and faith. As we look ahead, may this shared experience strengthen our resolve to work together in peace, mutual respect, and sustained commitment to cultural preservation and community development.
