THE GODS ARE NOT TO BLAME.
(A Drama)
According to Professor Akinwunmi Ishola[Kàkó Fáríorò] and duly reconfirmed from the Source, "The Gods Are Not To Blame" is an adaptation of the Odù Ifá Osa-Èṣù (Osa-Ogbè).
The Gods Are Not To Blame is a 1968 play and a 1971 novel by Ola Rotimi. The story is also similar to the Greek classic "Oedipus Rex"
The story centres on Odewale, who is lured into a false sense of security, only to somehow get caught up in a somewhat consanguineous trail of events by the gods of the land.
It's being staged in Akure on December 27, 2022 by our own Ayokunle Ajisafe at Ondo State Cultural Center, Adegbemile Hall, Akure, by 5.00pm CAT.
