I am a Christian, and I feel relieved that legal action has finally been taken on this matter. No one should suffer because of their religion, and this kind of treatment should not exist in Nigeria. People should be free to practice what they believe without fear or pressure from others.
At the same time, there is a group that is often ignored in these discussions. Those who follow traditional religions seem to face a lot of unfair treatment. While many people talk about conflict between Christians and Muslims, traditional worshipers are rarely given attention. Their beliefs are sometimes looked down on, and they are not always treated with respect, even though their traditions are part of the countryβs history and identity.
There is also a hard truth that needs to be faced. Some Christians speak strongly about being treated unfairly, especially in relation to Muslims, but at times they may also take part in or ignore the mistreatment of traditional believers. This creates a problem because it shows inconsistency in how religious freedom is defended.
If people truly believe in religious freedom, then it should apply to everyone, not just certain groups. Fairness means standing against injustice no matter who is affected. A society can only be peaceful when all people are respected and allowed to live out their beliefs without fear.
