Digital inclusion is not only about who can access technology, but also who sits in the room when the decisions governing technology are being shaped.
At , we brought together creatives, civic actors, and digital rights advocates to explore what meaningful participation in digital policies can look like. Through a live policy role play, participants stepped into the shoes of lawmakers, citizens, and civil society actors to experience how a bill moves from proposal to debate and, ultimately, to law.
Looking back, the questions raised remain relevant: Who gets to shape digital policy? Whose experiences inform those decisions? And what does meaningful participation actually look like?
As Nigeria’s digital landscape continues to evolve, these are questions worth keeping in the conversation.
