Season 1 taught us that a virtual exhibition can still create something deeply human.

UNEARTHED brought together 16 artists and welcomed more than 100 people from across Nigeria, Ghana, Canada, the United Kingdom and beyond. Conversations began, collectors returned to works that stayed with them, and pieces first encountered through a screen found their way into new homes and collections.

One detail stayed with us: around 75% of acquisitions were led by women.

Most of all, it showed us the strength of one shared exhibition experienced from many different places.
That lesson now carries us into Season 2.

Who chooses what you see?

At Infinite Treasures, an exhibition does not begin with an open call or a pile of submissions.

We search.

We spend time with artists’ practices, looking beyond a single impressive work to understand what they have been building over time, how their work has developed, and what perspective they bring.

Then comes the harder question: why this artist, for this exhibition?

Because a strong artist is not automatically the right artist for every curatorial conversation.

For PEOPLE AND PLACES, every invitation began with that process of looking, researching, discussing and selecting with intention.

The name came before the gallery.

Long before Infinite Treasures African Art became the platform you know today, Infinite Treasures (Infinite Treasures African Art) already carried an exhibition history shaped by serious Nigerian artists and years of practice.

For us, that history is not something to imitate. It is a responsibility.

A responsibility to look carefully, select with discernment, and present artists and works we believe deserve sustained attention.

Season 1, UNEARTHED, opened a new chapter for us earlier this year.

Now, we enter Season 2.

Watercolour moves on its own terms. It bleeds, settles, and shifts — and the artist has to work with that tension rather than dominate it.

The data matters because it shows a shift in recognition.

But for collectors, the question is not simply what is rising or what is being talked about.

The better question is: what deserves sustained attention beyond the current market moment?
