Emeh Kalu From Nguzu Edda village in Afikpo South Local Council Area of Ebonyi State, Lures His Rich Wife To De*ath To Inherit Her Properties
Emeh Kalu, a resident of Nguzu Edda village in Afikpo South Local Council Area of Ebonyi State has been arrested by the police for plotting his wife’s kidnap and dea*th.
Kalu, along with three accomplices were arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), in connection with the mu*rder of Nneka Nwanyi-Sunday Emeh Kalu.
Nneka was initially reported missing by her husband. But on 29 August her bo*dy was found in a cassava farm Ngugworo Community in Nguzu Edda in Afikpo South, Ebonyi State.
Investigation by the police led to the arrest of Emeh Kalu and his accomplices, identified as Irem Ifeanyi Mbah, Igwe Anya Chima, Okorie Okam
Emeh Kalu is being treated as the chief suspect, the plotter and executioner.
All the suspects are within the age bracket of 25 – 40yrs and all native of Nguzu Edda village.
Investigations into the de*ath of Nneka followed complaint received from the people of Ngugworo community, Ebonyi State, a border town to Abia State where the victim resided, when the decor*posi*ng b*ody of the late Mrs Kalu was discovered in their community.
The police found that Emeh Kalu – the husband of the deceased, coveted Nneka’s numerous assets including landed property, houses, money in bank and thriving business.
He wanted to quickly inherit the assets.
He thus procured the services of five other criminal elements to stage the abduction of his wife by luring her to meet him at a junction to pick up somethings for the house.
Investigations further revealed that the criminals star*ngle*d her after obtaining necessary information on the whereabouts of title documents and other relevant papers of her possessions.
Efforts are being intensified to arrest other suspects and persons indicted in the matter with a view to concluding the investigations.
The Police in a statement Wednesday condoled with Nneka’s family for the unfortunate loss.
