β¨ My LMI Journey: Gratitude & New Beginnings.
Two days ago, I proudly graduated from the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI), and as I reflect on this journey, my heart is still full of gratitude, strength, and new purpose. LMI was not just a programme, it was a real transformation for me.
Through this fellowship, I learned what true leadership means: service, humility, courage, and responsibility. I had the privilege of learning from brilliant facilitators, engaging with inspiring leaders, and connecting with amazing fellows who shaped my experience in so many ways. Every session helped me grow, think deeper, and lead better.
My sincere appreciation goes to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, CFR, Chief of Staff to the President, whose vision and commitment made this impactful programme possible. Thank you for believing in young people and creating a platform where leaders like me can rise with confidence and purpose.
A very special thank you to my LMI Director, Madam Sholape, for her tireless work, her guidance, and the plenty love she has shown throughout this journey. Your dedication and support made the experience more meaningful. I appreciate you deeply.
To the LMI faculty, mentors, and my fellow cohort members, thank you for the lessons, collaboration, kindness, and unforgettable memories. You all contributed something unique to my growth.
As I look ahead to the next level, Iβm stepping forward with renewed strength and a clear vision. I remain committed to promoting inclusion, supporting unheard voices, and carrying the spirit of Leadership For All into every platform I reach. My LMI journey may have ended, but my impact journey has just begun.
With gratitude and respect,
Honourable,
Maria Okese
