Sir, please I need your help. Yesterday I and my neighbor had a fight. He was the one that looked for my trouble. After we were separated by neighbours, as a Christian, I decided to allow the matter slide, I didn't want to make troubles with him.

This morning he brought the police to the compound and I was arrested and taken to the station. I tried to explain to the police that the person who reported was even the one who looked for my trouble and they said, why did I not go and report first.

I don't understand, is it everything that one must go to the station to report, can't one allow certain problems to just go? And now they have collected money for bail before allowing me to go.

Can I go to another station to call Police for my neighbor since it is who report first that now matters?

LEGAL MEDIA Response: No, don't go to another station to file same complaint that the police is already handling. Bail is not the end of a case. When next you are invited to the station, go to the station with your witness, the story will turn against your neighbour.

Dear Nigerians, Go and make Police Entry whenever you have problem and someone will ask, what does that even Mean?

You’ve heard it before.
Someone steals your phone
There’s a fight in your compound
Your neighbor thre@tens you
And immediately, people will shout:
“Go to the police station and make entry!”

But let me tell you something many people don’t know
👉 Police entry is NOT just ordinary talk. It is your first legal protection.

When you “make entry,” what you’re doing is this. You are officially reporting an incident to the police, and it is recorded in their station diary.

That record can later become:
✔ Evidence in court
✔ Proof that the incident actually happened
✔ Protection if the matter escalates

Now here’s where it gets serious…
🥢 If you don’t make entry early, it may look like the incident never happened
🥢 If the other party rushes first, their own version may be believed first
🥢 Delay can weaken your case completely

Let me break it down simply:
🥢 Police entry is your first version of the story on record
🥢 It shows you did not hide anything
🥢 It can protect you from false accusations later

But be careful. Do NOT lie when making entry.
A false report can land YOU in serious tr0uble.
Always state exactly what happened.

As a lawyer, let me say this clearly

The earlier you make police entry, the stronger your protection. Don’t wait until things get out of hand.

Have you ever gone to the police to “make entry” before?
What was your experience?

POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY MECHANISM

Real testimonies from citizens continue to flood the official X space of the unit ()! 🇳🇬🔥

Rather than letting the unit face policy somersaults, the 23rd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has focused on real development, modernizing the CRU to deliver transparent results.

Thank you to millions of Nigerians acknowledging this progress. A responsive CRU is the ultimate shield for both the citizen and the professional officer. 🦅🚔
