“From Khaki Dreams to Farewell Lights”
It started with a call—
A letter stamped with destiny,
A journey wrapped in khaki and courage,
A heart full of questions…
“Will I make it? Will I belong?”
Camp gates opened like a new chapter,
Strangers became sisters and brothers overnight,
Under the sun, we marched—not just on sand,
But into purpose, into growth, into becoming.
Early mornings, tired eyes,
Yet laughter echoed louder than fatigue,
We learned discipline in drills,
And found strength we never knew we had.
Then came the days beyond the camp—
Real life, real work, real tests.
Classrooms, offices, communities…
Places that shaped us quietly, deeply.
There were days we wanted to give up,
Moments we missed home too much,
But somehow… we stayed.
We endured. We evolved.
Friendships bloomed like wildflowers,
Memories stitched themselves into our souls,
Every challenge became a lesson,
Every step, a story worth telling.
And now… here we stand.
At the edge of an ending,
Wearing the same khaki—but not the same hearts.
We came as youths uncertain,
We leave as leaders, refined by time.
Today is not just the end—
It is a quiet celebration of survival,
A loud applause for growth,
A soft goodbye to a chapter we’ll never forget.
So we smile through misty eyes,
Because this journey…
Was never just service.
It was transformation.
NYSC… you began the story,
But today, we write the ending—with pride.
Priceless gift nysc gave me
God began the journey with us, ending it with us....
