🐐 FRUSTRATION IN THE FIELD: When Livestock Turns into a Liability 🌾
​There is nothing more heartbreaking for a farmer than watching months of hard work vanish in a matter of minutes. While we often talk about insect pests and weather, one of the most frustrating challenges right now is the unchecked destruction of crops by roaming livestock—especially goats.
​While goats are valuable assets to our communities, allowing them to graze freely through cultivated fields is destroying livelihoods. Young maize, groundnuts, and vegetables don’t stand a chance against a hungry herd. A single afternoon of negligence can ruin a household's food security and wipe out vital financial investments.
​Farming is hard enough without having to guard crops against our neighbors' animals. It is time for a serious shift toward responsible livestock management.
​To animal owners: Please tether or fence your goats. Your investment shouldn't destroy someone else's.
​To the community: Let’s enforce stronger local laws and respect boundaries so we can all thrive.
​Protecting our farms means protecting our food supply. Let's work together to keep the goats out of the corn! 🚫🐐🌽
