BE INTENTIONAL IN YOUR VOTING CHOICES: PDP CHAIR CHARGES ELECTORATE…Celebrates Bala Mohammed at 68

The National Chairman of the Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki,SAN has charged the electorate to be intentional in the candidates their vote into office during the next general elections, because the quality of candidates who emerge successful in elections will determine the calibre of leaders that the country will have in the next democratic cycle.

He said “it is often said that a country has the leaders it deserves. That is true because they don’t become leaders except, we choose them or acquiesce to their emergence. Some actively vote for bad leaders while others refuse to vote at all, thereby still allowing the emergence of bad leadership. We must not vote in exchange for spaghetti, rice, money or any other inducements. We must vote according to the capacity of the candidates to offer quality representation and contribute to national development. In the past we had leaders, especially legislators who offered effective and responsible representation of their people, which contrasts with the rubber stamp legislature that we now have. A weak legislature is not good for our country, as there will be no effective checks and balance. I commend the organisers of this event for providing an opportunity for the meeting of minds to x-ray the past and plan the future.”

He also reiterated the need for youth participation in politics and governance, saying that “young people must be consciously engaged in the process of politics and governance, as integral parts of the process, and not just as a decoration, or a statistic to look good. We must stop to say that youths are the leaders of tomorrow, when will that tomorrow come? Young people are the greatest stakeholders of the future, and that future cannot be discussed or planned in their absence. I thank Governor Bala Mohammed for making youth inclusion a priority of his administration, which is even obvious in the choice of his preferred successor. We cannot keep leaving the owners of the future out of the room, when we are planning the future.”

Turaki SAN made this statement as a part of his speech at the 2nd Bala Mohammed Colloquium at Bauchi, held to mark the 68th birthday anniversary.

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) heartily celebrates the National Leader of our great Party, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Bauchi State Governor and Senatorial Candidate of the Party for Bauchi South in the 2027 general elections, His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON, Kauran Bauchi, as he attains his 68th birthday today.

Senator Mohammed is an exceptionally patriotic Nigerian, a resourceful administrator, impactful leader and grassroot mobiliser, who continues to play pivotal roles for the unity, stability and economic development of the country.

Over the years, as a senator of the Federal Republic, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Abuja, now two-term Governor of Bauchi State and National Leader of the APM, Senator Mohammed continues to display exceptional and outstanding leadership expertise and capacity with which he not only transformed the FCT, but also repositioned all sectors of life with unprecedented infrastructural development and human empowerment strides in Bauchi State.

Labour Warning Strike: A Referendum Against Tinubu’s Re-election Bid - MDPCO

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) says the three-day warning strike by Nigerian workers has further brought into sharp focus the catastrophic consequences of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, asserting that a Makinde/Daura Presidency with its blueprint for economic recovery, will lead the nation out of the misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

The raging economic crisis under President Tinubu which gave rise to the organised Labour’s Charter of Demands, further highlights the ills of the anti-people policies of the Tinubu-led administration and the harsh realities they brought to everyday life in Nigeria.

The APC government that lit the "fire" now consuming the entire nation has become a firefighter without a hose as President Tinubu obviously has no answers to the problems brought to our nation by his administrations

The warning strike is a direct referendum on a failed government; a stark measure of how ill-conceived and ill-implemented economic policies have triggered widespread poverty in Nigeria.

It also raises a fundamental moral and political question about President Tinubu’s quest for a second term.

We ask, how can a government that failed to shield its citizens from the consequences of its policies, credibly ask the same citizens to renew its mandate?

It is apparent that a government where capital-budget implementation has been abysmally delayed and repeatedly rolled over for three consecutive years, amidst ceaseless borrowing, diminishing transparency and accountability; amidst unfulfilled promises and running in the background of elusive gains of subsidy removal, should not expect any votes from Nigerians.

We know that leaders living large at the expense of the people; desensitized to the suffocating cost of living and incapable of measuring productivity cannot protect Nigerians.

Indeed, the continued celebration by the APC government of supposed gains of its economic reforms, when those claimed gains remain largely invisible in the daily lives of average Nigerians is self-delusional.

When wages lose value, the cost of living keeps rising and workers barely survive, government statistics and celebratory claims become meaningless.

What Nigerians needs are people-based economic reforms with transparent social safety nets; reforms that protect livelihoods and ensure that Nigeria does not disappear under the burden of economic reforms.

By every reasonable measure of good governance, President Tinubu has failed a basic test. Nigerians cannot afford to promote failure. They deserve a government that has the capacity and integrity to deliver results.

The Makinde/Daura Presidency with its RESET Nigeria Agenda offers our nation a clear alternative with well thought-out, data-driven and people-friendly policies anchored on inclusiveness, intensive national production, adequate security, transparency and accountability in governance.

This is why Nigerians from all walks of life and even across party lines are queuing behind the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde in their collective quest to use the 2027 Presidential election to RESET Nigeria to a nation that truly works for all.

NYSC Abduction: Makinde/Daura PCO Condemns Tinubu's Nonchalant Attitude to Insecurity

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) asserts that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's lackadaisical attitude to issues of security has emboldened terrorists, bandits and kidnappers to attack, kill, maim and take Nigerians captive on a daily basis.

The October 1, 2026 abduction of 19 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members travelling from Ibadan, Oyo State to their orientation camps in the South-East and South-South parts of the country is yet another sad commentary on the failure of the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration to secure our citizens, particularly our vibrant youths on national assignment.

It is profoundly saddening and heartbreaking that under the watch of the Tinubu-led administration, parents toil, make immense sacrifices and struggle through biting economic hardship to train their children through tertiary institutions, only for them to be handed over to terrorists and bandits.

This latest abduction is not isolated. It is part of the horrifying reality under the Tinubu administration, where homes, communities, markets, places of worship, schools and highways are being overrun by marauders and criminal elements.

Sadly, Nigeria under President Tinubu is fast degenerating into a failed state where the primary constitutional duty of government, which is to ensure the security and welfare of citizens, has collapsed.

In the three and half years of the Tinubu-led administration, more than 600,000 Nigerians have been reportedly killed by terrorists, bandits and marauders, while countless others continue to languish in their captors' dens.

Despite the gallantry and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform, the Tinubu Presidency has not demonstrated the capacity to command and manage an effective, intelligence-driven security system that adequately guarantees the safety of all Nigerians.

President Tinubu ought to take a cue from the security approach of the Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Engr. Seyi Makinde in Oyo State, which emphasizes coordinated operations, intelligence, stronger collaboration, preventive measures and rapid response.

This is why majority of Nigerians are resolved to vote for Engr. Makinde in the January 16, 2027 Presidential election as a credible alternative to the failed Tinubu administration. Engr. Makinde has demonstrated the capacity, proficiency, experience and vigour to provide purposeful leadership and consistently lead from the front on all national issues.

The MDPCO stands with all Nigerians, especially those affected by the worsening insecurity across the country. We urge all citizens to remain steadfast as we work together to RESET and give our nation a new beginning under a Makinde/Daura administration.

Stop Claiming Oyo State Success: Give Credit Where It Is Due.

The attempt by agents of the ruling APC-led Federal Government to hijack and claim credit for infrastructural milestones achieved purely by the Oyo State Government (OYSG) has crossed the line from political spin into shameless falsehood.

Recent statements, most notably by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike falsely claiming a N50 billion federal allocation for the Ibadan Airport upgrade, expose a desperate pattern of project theft designed to mask federal inertia with state-funded achievements.

The Clear Facts on Oyo State Infrastructure

To set the record straight once and for all:

The 110km Circular Road: Conceived, funded, and executed 100% by the Seyi Makinde administration. It is neither a federal project nor a joint venture under any federal initiative.

The Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport Upgrade: Funded and driven entirely by OYSG resources, despite attempts by federal figures to invent a non-existent N50 billion federal intervention.

A Habit of Borrowed Glory

From federal figures to state-level representatives like Akin Alabi, a systematic narrative has taken root: whenever Governor Seyi Makinde delivers transformational governance using Oyo State's resources, the APC machinery steps forward to slap a federal label on it.

If the Federal Government wants to win public trust, it must point to its own tangible footprint in Oyo State rather than scavenging the achievements of a sub-national government that is actually working for its people.

Oyo State's visible progress belongs to the people of Oyo State, funded by their taxes, and driven by Governor Makinde's clear-eyed vision.

Stop stealing OYSG projects.
