Chapter 6 – The Hunter in the Dark

The arrow quivered in the cave wall.
Emmanuel froze.
Elder Chike quickly blew out the small fire.
"Don't make a sound," he whispered.
Heavy footsteps echoed outside.
A masked hunter stepped into the cave entrance with a bow in one hand and a sword in the other.
"I know you're in here," he said with a cruel smile.
Emmanuel's heart pounded.
Elder Chike quietly handed him a small dagger.
"If anything happens to me... run."
The hunter suddenly charged.
Clang!
Elder Chike blocked the first strike with his walking stick, revealing that it hid a sharp blade inside.
The two men fought fiercely while Emmanuel stood in shock.
At the perfect moment, Elder Chike shouted,
"Now, Emmanuel! Run!"
Reluctantly, Emmanuel sprinted out of the cave.
The hunter broke free and chased after him.
Emmanuel raced through the dark forest, jumping over rocks and fallen trees.
Just as the hunter was about to catch him...
A spear flew from the darkness and struck the ground between them.
The hunter stopped instantly.
From the shadows, several warriors stepped forward, dressed in black with the symbol of a lion on their shields.
Their leader looked directly at Emmanuel.
Then he knelt.
"Your Highness..."
"We have been waiting for you for eighteen years."

Chapter 5 – The Truth Begins

Emmanuel and the hooded stranger ran deep into the forest until nightfall.
Exhausted, they stopped inside an abandoned cave.
For a long time, neither of them spoke.
Finally, Emmanuel broke the silence.
"My parents... are they dead?"
The stranger lowered his head.
"They chose to save your life instead of their own."
Tears filled Emmanuel's eyes.
"Who are you? Why are they hunting me?"
The old man slowly removed his hood.
"I am Elder Chike, the former royal adviser to King Obiora."
Emmanuel stepped back in disbelief.
"The king?"
Elder Chike nodded.
"Because... King Obiora was your father."
The cave fell silent.
Emmanuel laughed nervously.
"That's impossible. I'm just a poor farmer's son."
Without saying a word, Elder Chike pointed to the golden necklace.
"Open it completely."
Emmanuel pressed a hidden latch.
A folded piece of parchment slipped out.
It bore the royal seal and the king's own handwriting.
'To whoever finds this: The child wearing this necklace is my son, Emmanuel—the rightful heir to the throne of Umudara. Protect him with your life.'
Emmanuel's hands shook.
Everything he believed about his life had just changed.
But before either of them could speak again...
A sharp arrow flew into the cave and struck the wall beside Emmanuel's head.
A cold voice echoed from outside.
"I've found you... Your Highness."

Chapter 4 – The House in Flames

The stranger pulled Emmanuel toward the back of the house.
"Run! Don't look back!" he shouted.
"But my parents—"
"Go!"
Just then, the royal soldiers surrounded Papa Ben's compound.
Their leader raised his sword.
"Search everywhere! The heir must not escape!"
Mama Sophia quickly hid the wooden box under Emmanuel's shirt.
"Keep it safe, my son," she whispered with tears in her eyes. "One day, you'll know the truth."
Before Emmanuel could ask another question, the soldiers set fire to the house.
Whoosh!
Flames spread through the roof.
Villagers screamed and ran in every direction.
Emmanuel struggled to go back.
"My parents are still inside!"
The stranger held him tightly.
"If you return now, their sacrifice will be in vain!"
With tears streaming down his face, Emmanuel watched the only home he had ever known disappear into the fire.
As he and the stranger escaped into the forest, the leader of the soldiers picked up a torn piece of Emmanuel's shirt.
He smiled wickedly.
"Run as far as you want," he said. "The Hidden Heir cannot hide forever."
Deep inside the burning house, Papa Ben whispered one final prayer.
"May God protect the true king..."
Then the roof began to collapse.

"I've never seen this before," he whispered.
As he reached for it, the pendant suddenly opened.
Inside was a tiny portrait of King Obiora and Queen Amara holding a baby.
Before Emmanuel could understand what he was seeing, someone knocked loudly on the door.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Papa Ben hurried outside.
Standing there was a tall, hooded stranger with a walking stick.
"I've been searching for this house for many years," the stranger said quietly.
His eyes fell on Emmanuel... and then on the necklace.
His face turned pale.
"So... you're alive."
Emmanuel frowned.
"Who are you? How do you know me?"
The old man looked around nervously before speaking.
"Not here. The walls have ears."
At that very moment, two armed riders wearing the royal crest appeared at the entrance of the village.
The stranger's expression changed instantly.
"They've found you!"
Without another word, he rabbed Emmanuel's arm.
"We must leave now... or you'll die before sunset."
The royal soldiers had already begun riding toward the house.

Chapter 2 – A Child Without a Name

Captain Musa ran through the thick forest all night, holding the baby close to his chest.
By sunrise, he arrived at a small village called Umuoke.
An old farmer, Papa Ben, and his kind wife, Mama Sophia, found the exhausted guard lying beneath a tree.
Before losing consciousness, Captain Musa handed them the baby.
"Please... protect him. Never tell anyone who he really is."
He slipped the golden necklace into a small wooden box.
"When the time is right... give him this."
With his last strength, Captain Musa disappeared before the royal soldiers could find him.
Papa Ben and Mama Sophia raised the little boy as their own and named him Emmanuel.
Years passed.
Emmanuel grew into a hardworking, humble young man. Everyone in the village knew him as the poor farmer's son.
But every night, he had the same strange dream...
A burning palace.
A golden throne.
And a mysterious voice whispering,
"Come home... your kingdom is waiting."
One morning, while clearing his father's old storehouse, Emmanuel discovered a dusty wooden box hidden beneath the floor.
His hands trembled as he slowly opened it...
Inside was a shining golden necklace engraved with the royal seal of Umudara.

Chapter 1 – The Night of Blood

Rain poured heavily over the Kingdom of Umudara.
Inside the royal palace, King Obiora held his newborn son tightly while Queen Amara cried silently.
"They're coming," the king whispered.
Outside, the sound of swords clashing echoed through the palace. Betrayers led by the ruthless Prince Victor had stormed the kingdom, determined to seize the throne before dawn.
A loyal palace guard, Captain Musa, rushed into the royal chamber.
"Your Majesty, we don't have much time! You must save the prince!"
The king removed a golden necklace bearing the royal seal and placed it around the baby's neck.
"This necklace is the only proof of his true identity," he said. "Take him far away. Never let anyone know who he is."
Captain Musa bowed with tears in his eyes.
"I swear on my life... I will protect him."
Moments later, the palace doors crashed open.
Prince Victor stepped inside with a bloody sword and a cruel smile.
"So... this is where the royal family hides."
Captain Musa escaped through a secret tunnel with the baby just as the screams inside the palace echoed through the night.
Far away, lightning flashed across the sky as the guard disappeared into the darkness, carrying the kingdom's last hope.

Chapter 1 – Good Morning Trouble 😂

One early morning, Mary greeted her uncle, Mazie Eloka, on WhatsApp.
Mary: "Uncle, good morning ooo ☀️❤️🙏😂🥰."
Mazie Eloka looked at the emojis and shouted,
"Chineke! Wetin be all these signs?!"
He quickly switched off his phone.

Chapter 2 – Emergency Meeting 😳
Mazie Eloka ran to his best friend, Johnbull.
"Johnbull, Mary don send juju enter my phone!"
Johnbull adjusted his cap.
"Show me."
After seeing the emojis, he whispered,
"Hmmm... this matter serious small."
Both of them became afraid.

Chapter 3 – Fred the Expert 😂
They called their neighbor, Fred, who always claimed he knew everything.
Fred looked at the phone and laughed.
"Una no know say these things fit be village code?"
Mazie Eloka almost fainted.

Chapter 4 – The Pastor Arrives 🙏😂
They invited Pastor Daniel.
Pastor collected the phone.
Mary suddenly sent another message.
"Uncle, have a blessed day 😇❤️🤗."
Mazie Eloka shouted,
"She don add more signs!"
Everybody started praying.

Chapter 5 – The Truth Comes Out 🤣
Mary arrived at the compound.
She burst into laughter.
"Uncle, na ordinary emojis be this."
She explained:
😂 = laughter
❤️ = love
🙏 = prayer or thanks
🥰 = happiness
Mazie Eloka scratched his head.
"So... no be juju?"
Everybody laughed. Emojis can mean different things depending on the context and the people using them. �

Chapter 6 – Uncle Learns Emoji 😂
Mary taught him how to use WhatsApp emojis.
Mazie Eloka typed his first message.
"Good morning 😂🙏❤️."
Johnbull replied,
"Welcome to 2026, Uncle!"
The whole compound laughed.

Chapter 7 – New Problem 😂
The next day, Mazie Eloka mistakenly sent ❤️😘🥰 to the men's village meeting group.
Silence...
Then one elder replied,
"Eloka... who you dey toast?" 😂
Everybody started laughing.

Chapter 8 – Final Chapter 😂❤️
Mazie Eloka smiled and said,
"I don finally know say emoji no be juju... but e fit still put person for trouble if you send am to the wrong group!" 😂
The whole compound laughed until tears came out.
