My playlist has carried many Nigerian stars over the years. 2Baba will always hold a top place for me, because his music feels timeless, rich, and full of soul. I can play his songs and still feel fresh emotions every single time without getting tired.

I also have great love for Kizz Daniel. From his first album to the second one, I enjoy almost every track, because his sound works for me in a very special way. 9ice is another artist I have always admired and wanted to do something with at one point.

These artists give me joy and inspiration. Their songs make long days feel lighter, and they remind me that our country holds so much talent. Listening to them keeps me connected to home and to the creative spirit of our people.

People talk about marriage like it is a trophy for a woman. I do not see it like that. For me, marriage is just another phase of life. It is not the full story of who you are. It is not the only thing that gives you value.

If you are blessed to find someone who loves you and is also your friend, then you enjoy that phase. You laugh, you grow and you face life together. If it does not happen, it is still your life. You are not less of a person. My life is mine, married or not.

Managing family with fame is not easy. I have been married more than ten years, and my wife often sits in the audience and watches me. People see the red carpet, but they do not see the quiet battle at home. My biggest challenge in this job is when I must leave the house for a long time to shoot a film.

Before I go on set, I cut myself off from normal life. In that period, I am not husband or father. I become the person I am acting. The children do not like it when I travel again and again. I explain that I go so I can bring them toys and better TV. Slowly they understand, but inside, leaving them still hurts me deeply.

Being a star looks sweet from far away, but it is not easy at all. I cannot just walk anywhere like a regular person now. People stop me, they stare, they ask for pictures all the time. Many days I feel tired, but I still smile and stay kind, because these same people helped to build my career and my name in Nollywood.

I also try to stay very humble. I remind myself that fame can disappear if I act proud or careless. So I stay focused, I work hard, and I try to live a simple life. When it feels heavy, I remember that this is the life I chose as an actor, and I carry my cross with patience and grace.

I got married when I was just 19. It wasn’t my choice—my parents arranged it. At first, I was scared. I didn’t know how to love a man I didn’t choose. But as time passed, love grew. We spent 23 years together. He was sick for 15 of those years, and in 2000, he passed away. We had three beautiful kids, and I adopted five more. One of them died, so now I have seven. I never remarried. I wanted to stay with my children and raise them well.

Today, people take too long fixing themselves, yet marriages don’t last. In our time, our parents chose for us, and we stayed committed. I’ve told my children never to think of divorce. I raised my daughters to be respectful and my sons to be responsible. That’s how I built a strong home through hardship, love, respect and sacrifice.

Sometimes people ask why I disappeared from their screens. Many said I broke their hearts because they grew up watching my films and suddenly I was not there again. I understand that feeling, but what happened was that God shifted my assignment. He carried me fully into ministry so He could use my voice and experience in a different way, not only for entertainment but to draw people back to Him.

So when you see less of me in movies, it does not mean I stopped working. I have been travelling, preaching, doing morning cries with my megaphone, visiting churches and communities, and sharing the message of salvation. The stage changed, but the purpose became deeper. The same God who helped me shine on screen is now helping me shine His light in hearts.
