Her name was Osaro Festus. A vibrant young lady with dreams and a future ahead of her. Like many youths today, she was active on social media, chatting and connecting with new people. Thatโs where she met Joshua, a young man who seemed friendly and trustworthy online.
Two months later, tragedy struck.
Joshua invited Osaro to his house in Edo State. That day, she had a female friend over at her parentsโ home. Together, they left the house. Out of caution, Osaro sent her friend a picture of Joshua, โin case anything goes wrong.โ Sadly, she had no idea that the devil had already laid a deadly trap for her.
After she went missing, her family searched and prayed, not knowing the horror that had befallen their daughter. For nearly two months, her parents lived in pain, not hearing from her. The police investigated until they eventually traced Joshua to his home.
When questioned, Joshua tried to downplay his evil. He claimed that Osaro โslipped and fellโ during an argument. But the shocking truth came to light, he had buried her in a shallow grave near his house.
Osaroโs young life was cut short.
Her dreams silenced forever.
Her family left with scars no one can heal. ๐ญ๐ญ
Be very careful with strangers online.
Not everyone on social media is who they claim to be. Behind the smiling pictures and sweet words, there may be predators.
Safety first, always.
If you must meet someone, do it in a public place, never in their private space. Inform trusted people of your exact whereabouts.
Parents, stay close to your children.
Donโt assume theyโre safe because theyโre home today, know their friends, both online and offline. Build trust so they can confide in you without fear of judgment.
May God keep protecting our loved ones in Jesus' Name ๐
