Meet Ruth Mahogany — is a multidisciplinary artist, writer, and creative director whose work lives at the intersection of sound, story, and social impact. Rooted in spoken word and expanded through music, her artistry blends afrobeats, hip-hop, reggae, soul, and alternative influences into a distinct, expressive sound.

A First Class graduate of Accounting and Finance, she brings both structure and soul to her creative process. Her 15-track album ALCHEMY reflects her ability to transform lived experiences into rhythm, lyric, and meaning.

Beyond music, she uses visual storytelling and poetry to engage with social issues, collaborating with global organizations and amplifying underrepresented voices.

She currently led the White Fire campaign, a social impact project focused on raising awareness for persons living with albinism, challenging stigma, and promoting inclusion through art and community engagement.

Meet Ebiotu Tamarakuro .ebiotu —Nigerian filmmaker, AI engineer, creative director, project manager and Spoken Word Poet working at the intersection of storytelling, technology, and culture.

He is the founder of Orange Poetry, a leading platform dedicated to curating high-quality spoken word experiences and building a vibrant community of poets and creatives across Africa and beyond. Through Orange Poetry, he has led and produced live events, digital showcases, and cross-cultural collaborations that amplify emerging and established voices.

With a background in Computer Engineering, Ebiotu combines technical expertise with artistic vision, exploring how artificial intelligence and digital tools can expand creative expression and redefine the future of storytelling. His work spans film direction, content production, and creative project management across media, literature, and technology.

He has collaborated with television networks, cultural institutions, and creative organisations, delivering projects that merge innovation with impact-driven storytelling.

Meet Marvellous Oruchi Ken-Adele — spoken word poet, event organiser and portfolio manager. Popularly known as Oruz Kennedy, he is the founder of More Life Poetry, a literary organisation in Nigeria that promotes poetry, education and is particular about community building.

He is also the Director of the Port Harcourt Poetry Festival and the Poetry in Schools Initiative. He has a collection of poems titled “We Should All Be Poets” soon to be published in 2026 and a spoken word poetry album titled “Family Ties” also scheduled to be released in 2026.

Meet Sydney Conteh — A Siera Leonean-born writer and author of the books looking through the black window and this soul of mine.
Sydney Conteh was born during the Sierra Leonean Civil War he specializes in poetry. His poems cover a wide range of racial, youth advocacy and war.

Sydney Conteh has worked in youth advocacy for the last six years, this gives sydney an insight into the lives of young people that enhances the reach of his youth advocacy poems.

Sydney is also a psychology graduate via Anglia Ruskin University, he uses his knowledge in psychology to lead mental health-themed poetry workshops that help people use poetry as well-being.

Meet Jubeda Khatun ( ) — A Liverpool-based performance arts graduate, theatre maker, producer, and spoken word poet — and one of the most compelling cultural voices in the North West of England. An alumnus of the prestigious Future Leader of Tomorrow Artistic Director leadership programme delivered by Talawa, Tiata Fahodzi, and Freedom Studios, she has spent years building spaces that centre Black arts, authentic storytelling, and community belonging.

In 2017, Jubeda co-conceived BlackFest after meeting collaborator Blue Saint at an Eclipse Theatre artist night — a direct creative response to the lack of Black representation in Liverpool’s cultural institutions. Formally founded in 2018, BlackFest is now a landmark grassroots annual festival spanning music, theatre, film, visual arts, spoken word, and poetry across community spaces and established venues. As its Executive Artistic Director, Jubeda has grown it into one of the UK’s most important platforms for Black creative voices.

Her impact has been widely celebrated. She was named Merseyside Woman of the Year 2022 and took home the Arts & Culture category award at the same ceremony. She has been listed among Liverpool’s 100 most influential people by the Liverpool Echo Power List, and serves as a trustee of both Awesome Foundation Liverpool and Liverpool Soup, championing grassroots funding and community-led creativity.

Whether on stage, in the boardroom, or in community spaces, she remains a fierce and generous advocate for representation, equity, and the transformative power of art.
