As Namibia commemorates Genocide Remembrance Day, the National Theatre of Namibia honours the importance of remembering and preserving the histories that continue to shape our nation.

In this conversation, Keith Vries (Writer) and Patrick Sam (Director), the creatives behind the play “Coming Home Dead,” reflect on memory, loss, artistic responsibility, and the role of theatre in preserving the history of the Herero and Nama Genocide for present and future generations.

So that these histories are remembered, honoured, and never forgotten.

What does Africa mean through the eyes of creatives?

This Africa Day, we asked award-winning Namibian creatives Eslon Hindundu and Melgisedek Nehemia a series of quick-fire and reflective questions on African identity, inspiration, and creativity, celebrating the diversity and unity of African creativity.

Their answers are simple, honest, and revealing in their own way.

Watch the full conversation.

Happy Africa Day.
