Kevlyn built a strong connection between land and material by collecting and processing wild clay from the Orange River. They explain that Oranjemund’s shifting weather and the enduring presence of the land shaped the creation, texture, and feeling of each piece.

Hildegard Titus focused on themes of womanhood, motherhood, and the choice to be or not to be a mother. "Fruit of Her Womb" - an exploratory project shaped through film and photography - delves into identity, fertility, and reproductive rights.

During her residency, Edeltraut drew inspiration from Oranjemund’s desert landscapes, native plants, and the soft colour transitions of the sky at dawn and dusk. Her resulting body of work explores abstract colour gradients and overlays.

Art Exhibition Travels to Windhoek!

The OMDis Artists in Residence 2025 exhibition is coming to the Namibian Arts Association.

Featuring works by Edeltraut Rath, Hildegard Titus, and Kevlyn Gowases, this exhibition showcases the creative outcomes of a month-long residency at the Oranjemund Art Centre. Expect painting, photography, and ceramics, all inspired by the unique environment of Oranjemund.
