FAITH FOUNDATION APOLOGISES AFTER BOXING BONANZA DISRUPTIONS
The Faith Foundation has apologised to the public after disruptions affected its “Harry vs Ninja: Boxing Bonanza – The Rematch” charity event held on Saturday.
The event was organised to raise funds for crime prevention and rehabilitation programmes, but confusion arose due to a miscommunication with the Boxing Control Board, leading to public uncertainty over whether the event was cancelled.
The main bout between former world champion Harry Simon and Paulus “Ninja” Shimweefeleni was cancelled after Simon was declared medically unfit due to high blood pressure. Several other fights were also called off because not all boxers submitted the required medical documents.
The Foundation clarified that the event was not-for-profit and was funded entirely by its own resources, with all proceeds intended to support community outreach. Due to the low turnout, the organisation suffered a financial loss.
Despite the setbacks, the Foundation thanked the public, partners, volunteers, and supporters, reaffirming its commitment to the fight against crime and a safer Namibia.
