Two boys aged seven and eight have drowned in the Sifuha area of the Kabbe North Constituency, Zambezi Region.

According to the police report, the incident occurred around 15:00 on Sunday in a water channel alongside the Luhonono tarred road.

The two children had gone swimming but failed to stay afloat and drowned.

A 13-year-old who was with them ran to alert the elders in the village. Community members managed to retrieve the boys and rushed them to Isize Clinic, where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The deceased have been identified, and their next of kin have been informed.

Their bodies were taken to the mortuary at Katima Mulilo State Hospital, where postmortem examinations will be conducted.
