Every tradition has a beginning.

But not every tradition continues.

Some disappear with time.
Others survive because each generation chooses to preserve them—not in museums, but through practice.

Yi Jin Jing (易筋经) is one such tradition.

For centuries, it has been carried quietly within the Shaolin tradition, passed from teacher to disciple through disciplined practice rather than performance.

This August, that lineage makes a brief journey from Mount Song to Kuala Lumpur.

Not as history.

But as a living practice, shared within the space of Core Contemporary Art.

THE BODY

Modern life conditions the body toward
tension, fatigue, shallow breathing,
and internal overstimulation.

Over time,
many people lose awareness of:
breathing patterns,
structural alignment,
and the body’s natural internal rhythm.

Yi Jin Jing (易筋经)
approaches the body not through intensity,
but through restoration.

Through breath,
posture,
stillness,
and disciplined movement,
the practice gradually rebuilds awareness of the body’s natural structure and internal flow.

Presented in collaboration with
Shaolin Cultural Centre of Malaysia.

For years, Core Contemporary Art
has existed as a space for visual contemplation -
a place for encountering image, form, and perception.

This August, the space opens into something else.
In collaboration with Shaolin Cultural Centre of Malaysia,
we present Yi Jin Jing (易筋经) -
an internal Shaolin practice rooted in the lineage of Mount Song.

Within the context of the gallery,
contemplation moves beyond the visual -
into breath, structure, stillness,
and embodied practice.

Step into a world where screen colours come alive. From RGB glow to CMYK tones, artists transform digital palettes into tactile, physical experiences.

Part of an ongoing exploration of how colour moves between the virtual and real—blurring boundaries, reshaping how we see and feel.

🌏 This special regional edition brings together neighbouring artists across Southeast Asia, fostering a shared dialogue through colour, culture, and their own interpretation of the exhibition.
