Halfway through my Malaysian Flavours series, I've been collecting the tastes of home in miniature watercolours. Each piece, no larger than 6 × 8 cm or 8 × 8 cm, is painted on 300gsm Potentate watercolour paper and serves as a tiny tribute to the food, drinks, and desserts that have shaped our everyday lives.

There are still a few empty seats at the table...
