Graph Studio’s 2025 Sick Six Young Director, Kai Wei , has won Silver Screen at Cannes Young Director Award 2026 for Talk To Me.
And in doing so, she has helped bring home Graph Studio’s first medal at Cannes YDA.
Possibly Malaysia’s first Silver Screen winner at Cannes YDA too.
This one means a lot to us.
Two years ago, we were in Cannes with Ah Fish Cheng , full of hope, fresh from winning Gold at ADFEST. But after sitting through the Gold winners’ screening ourselves, we understood why we didn’t win. The bar was incredibly high.
We left inspired, humbled, and with one promise to ourselves to craft better, push harder, and keep growing.
Two years later, we couldn’t be in Cannes this time. But this news came as the most beautiful surprise.
Kai Wei, we are so, so proud of you. Your voice, your sensitivity, and your vision made Talk To Me what it is. Thank you for trusting the team, for holding on to the story, and for reminding all of us why we do what we do.
This film had a journey of its own. We didn’t give up after not winning Sick Six. We kept believing in the work, in Kai Wei, and in what Talk To Me could become.
