Regal Orchestra had come a long way from its origins as a performing unit of KeeJan Enterprise (Music & Art). The orchestra officially established in 2003 on the recommendation of Dato Jennifer Low. The Regal Orchestra seeks to expose and promote traditional Chinese music not only among music enthusiasts but also to communities in general. Through its on-going endeavours, Regal Orchestra aims to preserve Chinese culture in all its diversity, spreading its richness to sectors including food & beverage (restaurants), service (hotel), travel (exhibitions), wedding ceremonies, company annual dinners and other auspicious functions. Regal orchestra has scored notable achievements in promoting Chinese culture via music. The orchestra staged grand performances for audiences at various venues which includes hotel ballrooms and also shopping centres. At these shows, audiences were enthralled by the orchestra’s creative musical renditions which include solos, duets and trios. We at Regal Orchestra are committed to continue thrilling our audiences, developing goodwill and delight through our shows. The founder of The Regal Orchestra, Alan Lam is absolutely passionate for music that he had cultivated since childhood. Trained by his father and driven his love for the art, Alan claimed the title of champion in Malaysia’s Chinese Music Solo Competition in both 1990 and 1991. He then went on to complete his music studies in 1999. And in year 2000, he founded Kee Jan Enterprise teach and cultivate talent in traditional Chinese music lovers. Now with a stable of talented musicians, the Regal Orchestra was born. The orchestra’s repertoire includes traditional and even contemporary music to captivate and vow audiences all around the world. The Regal Orchestra started with an aim to cultivate the interest in classical Chinese music amongst the masses. Along the way, the orchestra had transcended the barriers of language and culture by incorporating instruments from the different cultures of Malaysia. Whether it is a Chinese, Malay or Indian celebration, the orchestra injects a breath of fresh air into traditional performances by incorporating elements of the Malaysian culture. Music is a language understood by all, regardless of race and the Regal Orchestra hopes to overcome the barriers of language for music to be enjoyed by all. The Fusion Band is an advanced performance ensemble exploring a variety of musical styles and genres including but not limited to Jazz, Variety, R&B, World Music, Oldies, modern or world music. The band has a great sound, great presence and great music. Your guests will be tapping their toes to the music that the band plays. The Regal Orchestra Fusion Band has both female and male vocals. Our song choices are wide with almost 200 (and growing) songs to choose from and you will definitely be able to find your favourite. The Regal Orchestra Jazz Band is one of the more popular choice of bands to play Live Music for events. Our Jazz band is headed by a Jazz Singer to complete the music with powerful vocals. The styles that our Jazz Band can cover are quite diverse, ranging from dance music to classical music and everything in between. Our specialty is our "Fusion Jazz" performance, a beautiful mix of Western and Eastern instruments forming a medley of songs that will keep your guests entertained. The Regal Percussion Band performs percussion music in East meets West style. Incorporating percussion instruments like the Indian Tabla, Chinese drums, Malay Kompang, Western drumset, African Djembe just to name a few, their energetic performance will definitely keep your guest attentive!
