王嘉堃是一位居住在吉隆坡的书法家。 1996年毕业于马来西亚艺术学院美术系。二十年来，嘉堃一直沉浸在书法和水墨世界，不断努力的创作和探讨中国书法与当代艺术的关系。
这一次的书法个展所展出的作品，是嘉堃老师在MCO 3.0 关在家里的那几个月所创作的。这些作品呈现了他在这些日子里渡过的心路历程和种种起伏的情绪。他利用了现代歌词为这次创作的字范，也许里面也有你熟悉的歌词。

在汉朝时期就已有记载，诗就是民间的歌曲。一直沿着唐朝的诗、宋朝的词、到元朝的元曲，都是以吟唱的方式念出来的。到了现代，人们一样的唱起歌词，就是所谓的「吟诗赋词」。
而诗词的音律与感受，也不断的被人们用书法作品记录下来。对嘉堃来说，书法里特有的基本元素 —— 点，线与面，更能表达歌曲与词中所要传递的抽象情感。他说，当代歌词更能贴切的表现现代人的内心渴望，以及所面对的情感世界。

具与材料的选择、线条的呈现方式、房里的温度，乃至于所配上的音乐效果，都是创作过程中举足轻重的细节。这些画作就像是烟火刹那绚烂的描摹，她们都是不可被复制的。
有别于SING A SONG 1.0，这一次的展出（SING A SONG 2.0），嘉堃选择了以现代流行曲的歌词为素材，来呈现他的书法意境。这些精心挑选的词曲对嘉堃来说都代表着不同的意义、不同的情感和回忆。

Ong Chia Koon is a calligraphy artist based in Kuala Lumpur. Chia Koon has been immersed in the world of calligraphy and ink painting for more than two decades, constantly striving to create work at the intersection between Chinese calligraphy and contemporary art. In addition to calligraphy, Chia Koon has worked on pottery design in Yixing and Jingdezhen in China, painting performances, live music and art direction. This is his eleventh solo exhibition since his first in 2004. About Sing A Song 2.0
The abstract poetic and emotive beauty of song lyrics reverberate through Chia Koon's calligraphy works. His self-expression as an artist through contemporary calligraphy celebrates his romantic being. For Chia Koon, song lyrics are like poems, each dot, stroke and line in his calligraphy expresses the sentiment of the lyrics perfectly. Contemporary lyrics touch his desires profoundly. The explosion of emotions during his creative process is obvious. His work in Sing A Song 2.0 translates his romantic being like fireworks - it bursts, expands, lights the skies; sparks then dim, fall and disappear. Much akin to the romantic songs Chia Koon enjoys listening to, poetic lyrics emote sensations of falling in love, happiness, ecstasy as well as heartbreak, rejection and loneliness. The song lyrics exhibited in Sing A Song 2.0 were all hand picked by the artist as they hold special meaning to him.
