1511 O Maliao Maliao Dance Troupe This group was formed in June, 2014. There are 21 of us in the group including musicians. Most of us were dancers from the early 70s till late 80s.

We chose the sarong kebaya for the ladies and the pyjamas for the guys. Our reason for dressing this way and not using the usual Portuguese costume is to commemorate the Portuguese sailors who first set foot on our shores in 1511 where they met, fell in love and married the local ladies. This is what makes us unique.
