River Lights Melaka Bringing people back to the life-giving Melaka River, stunning both in the gleaming sunshine and under the starry night sky, once again!

Riversides are where lives thrive in Malaysia. Unfortunately, our rivers have become polluted over time, and pollution threatens wildlife and our ecosystem. The pollution affects our daily lives and enjoyment of

nature. When the Melaka river was polluted, it's beauty and its significance were diminished. Now that it has been rehabilitated, it resumes its centrality once again - a place where young and old can gather to enjoy the gift of nature through community interactions and exercise. Under the helm of Cendana, Think City, and MBMB - the river cleaning project culminating in the SDG park - is celebrated as an achievement in the restoration of Malacca's most important waterway and the creation of public space for the enjoyment of all generations of Malaccans and visitors to the city. Projek Light merupakan sebuah inisiatif lanjutan daripada program Art In The City oleh CENDANA dengan kerjasama Think City untuk menghidupkan bandar dengan seni awam dan persembahan. Program ini dijadualkan untuk berlangsung dengan pemasangan seni awam dan persembahan yang telah dikurasi di Butterworth, Ipoh, Melaka, Batu Pahat dan Kuching. The Light Project is an extension of CENDANA’s yearly marquee event Art In The City in collaboration with Think City to light up cities with public art and performances curated to take place in Butterworth, Ipoh, Melaka, Batu Pahat and Kuching.
