Nothing beats hands-on learning. I've learned so much about event marketing and ticket sales. So far, so good. But I have done some boo-boos

1) Neglected to tell people to be at the event venue 30 mins earlier. I put the event times at 8.30-9.30pm. Should've put the starting time at 8pm instead. We need time to seat people and do announcements.

2) Not doing a teaser trailer earlier. Should have prioritised this since the beginning! Many people asked me - what's the show going to be about. And I keep saying 'light-in-the-dark show'. Hard to visualise right? The good thing is the teaser trailer video is almost done! Will be posted soon!

We're already talking about future shows. I'll make sure to not forget these two next time :)

Public thank you to Zcoin Malaysia community for purchasing 14 x tickets to our show, In A Different Light. Payment received in $XZC! 👏👏👏👏👏😆

ZCoin is a privacy-focused cryptocurrency. The tech behind it is fascinating. They use Zero-knowledge proof with cryptographic application. Techies, look into it.

This makes it the THIRD type of crypto we accepted as payments for our show. I think we just made history ❤️

Who's in the show? FREAKING TALENTED PEOPLE THAT'S WHO - Part 2!

From her first foray into acting as the Virgin Mary in her primary school's annual Christmas Nativity, Nikki Basharudin has had a passion for theatre since young.

That passion took her to specialise in IB Theatre Arts in her international school where she starred in productions such as Caryl Churchill's Top Girls and Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle.

Since then, she took a hiatus from the acting world pursuing a Marketing and Business Law degree which led to her position as a brand manager for a multinational company. Though challenging, the work proved to be uninspiring and she has returned to the performing arts world with her debut in the KL acting scene with the lead role in Anomalist Production's Attorney followed closely after with The VSC Project's Duality in which she delved to explore devised movement in physical theatre.

Currently in training to hone her craft, she is keen to explore all forms of performance arts and is constantly fascinated with the philosophy of acting.

Nikki was recently offered to enrol at a prestigious and highly competitive London Drama school.

So a few people have asked me the question, "what's the show going to be about?"

It'll be a light manipulation show, performed in the dark. Kan Earth Hour is 1-hour blackout? We're using that angle.

We have so many light props. Now planning a teaser trailer to show you what to expect!

For now, see this vid for a 'more or less'

Surprise, surprise! Guess what I dragged out from the bag?

"In A Different Light: An Earth Hour Tribute" is actually the second time I've had the privilege of working with the wonderfully charismatic Razif Hashim of Fungrytv and FTalent. Here is a throwback from when we worked on "Six Characters In Search of An Author", staged at Pentas 2, klpac way back in 2007.

Geeeez, that's 11 years ago!!! 😲 When I was botak!!!

Come catch him in "In A Different Light: An Earth Hour Tribute" on the 24th of March at UPPERCASE @ APW, Bangsar, 8.30pm. And come see how my hair has grown!
