Welcome back home, Dr Tan Yu Hang!! 🇲🇾🇺🇸🥰🥰
Proudly Malaysian, Dr Tan holds significant experience! From being a three-time alumnus of the World Youth Choir to representing Malaysia in EuroChoir, he is even the music director of the 111-year old Ebell Chorale, that was established in 1915 🤯

Yu Hang Tan (Malaysia) holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Music from the University of Southern California and is a passionate advocate for Southeast Asian communal singing traditions. He is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of the Los Angeles–based Suara Southeast Asian Choir and has presented his research internationally, including at the World Choral Symposium, World Choral Expo, and HarbourVOICES! Festival. An active composer, arranger, conductor, and educator, Yu Hang’s arrangements of Southeast Asian music are performed by choirs across the United States. His recent arrangement Kenek-Kenek Udang was commissioned by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles for Visit Malaysia Year 2026 and Malaysia Day celebrations. A three-time World Youth Choir alumnus and two-time EuroChoir participant, Yu Hang currently serves as Music Director of the USC-SingWell Choir and North Hollywood First United Methodist Church, and directs the historic Ebell Chorale in Los Angeles.

OMG! 🤩 It’s officially less than 85 days until MCE ICF 2026!

As we continue unveiling all the exciting news we have in store for you, allow us to introduce the latest addition to our MCE 2026 jury panel — coming all the way from Korea, Mr. Lee Hyun Chul!

Grounded in both musical professionalism and spiritual depth, Lee is widely recognized for his warm melodic writing and refined harmonic language. His works have been published by major Korean music publishers, and he was commissioned by Oxford University Press to contribute to the Christmas anthology World Carols for Choirs.
Hyun Chul Lee studied composition at Georgia State University and later earned his master’s degree in composition from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
Lee currently serves as Adjunct Professor of Church Music at Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary, Resident Composer of the Uijeongbu City Choir, and CEO of Ollim Music.

What an honour it is to welcome him to Kuala Lumpur for MCE ICF 2026! 🇲🇾✨

✨INTRODUCING THE MCE ICF 2026 FESTIVAL GUEST CHOIR - Young Voices of The Philippines! 🇵🇭

🔥 From Carnegie Hall to Rome, and now Malaysia! Get ready to witness one of the most celebrated children’s choirs in the WORLD at MCE ICF 2026!

The Young Voices of the Philippines (YVP) is a scholarship choir under the Treble Choir Association of the Philippines, founded by Dr. Maria Theresa Vizconde-Roldan and Prof. Jude B. Roldan. The program nurtures children’s musical talent and holistic development while promoting Filipino culture through choral music. In 2023, YVP became the first Philippine choir to perform at Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium, and won four First Prizes at the 12th Golden Gate International Choral Festival (Youth Choir Historical, Folk, Gospel/Spiritual, and Contemporary). They received the 2024 Ani ng Dangal Award from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and have performed internationally, including singing for Pope Francis at World Children’s Day in Rome.

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Young Voices of the Philippines to MCE ICF 2026. Don’t miss this extraordinary choir as they bring their powerful voices and inspiring music to our festival.
