Pusat Seni Pentas Tradisional (Centre of Traditional Performing Arts, PuTRA) is a department at ASWARA was launched by the Social and Cultural Adviser to the Government of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim in 2014. Its establishment aims to preserve the traditional arts through mentoring activities, short courses, performances, discourse and various efforts to nurture and develop the traditional performing arts. PuTRA staffed by some of the renowned educators, practitioners, and artists in the field of traditional Malay arts such as wayang kulit, Mak Yung, traditional Malay percussion drums, Malay gamelan, caklempong and traditional instrument making.
