✨ A Historic and Inspirational Milestone ✨

14th June 2026 marked an extraordinary chapter in the journey of Bharatanatyam as we proudly presented the Arangetram of Prof. Datuk Dr. Alice Prethima Michael — a distinguished medical professor and physician whose achievement has become a beacon of inspiration for all.

At the age of 65, after a gap of more than 20 years away from dance, she embarked on a remarkable journey back to Bharatanatyam. Despite her demanding professional commitments and the challenges that often accompany age, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to six months of intensive training with unwavering discipline, determination, and passion.

Her successful Arangetram stands as a testament to the power of perseverance and the belief that it is never too late to pursue one’s dreams. In recognition of this remarkable accomplishment, she was awarded the title of “Natya Sadhana” by our Guru Shrimathi Shamala Segar and she also achieved the Malaysian Book of Records title for being the oldest individual to successfully complete a Bharatanatyam Arangetram.

This achievement is not merely a personal milestone; it is a powerful reminder to all that age is not a limitation, but a number. Passion, commitment, and courage have no age barrier.

We are immensely proud of Prof. Datuk Dr. Alice for her dedication, resilience, and inspiring spirit. May her journey encourage countless others to pursue their aspirations fearlessly, regardless of age or circumstance.

Behind this remarkable achievement stands a dedicated guru whose faith, patience, and commitment made this journey possible. Taking on the challenge of preparing a student for Arangetram at the age of 65, after a two-decade hiatus from dance, required not only expertise but also tremendous dedication and belief in her student’s potential.

With unwavering guidance, meticulous training, and encouragement every step of the way, our beloved Guru Natya Sironmani Shrimathi Shamala Segar nurtured and empowered Prof. Datuk Dr. Alice to overcome limitations and transform a seemingly impossible dream into a historic reality. This achievement is a beautiful reflection of the sacred Guru-Shishya tradition, where a teacher’s vision and a student’s determination come together to create something truly extraordinary. Our Guru has once again proven her dedication to preserving and sharing the art of Bharatanatyam, and for demonstrated that true learning knows no age boundaries.

Heartfelt congratulations on this historic achievement. May this Arangetram be the beginning of many more inspiring milestones ahead.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Guests of Honors Padmashree Datuk Ramli Ibrahim, Nattuva Thilagam Guru Shrimathi Indira Manikam and Bharatha Kalashihamani & Aadal Arasu Guru Sri Dr Chandramohan Ramasamy who graced this occasion.

Thank you to all who made this historic event possible!

“Dreams do not have an expiry date. When passion meets determination, anything is possible.”

🌺 Congratulations once again, Prof. Datuk Dr. Alice. You have truly inspired a generation. 🌺
