I remember the first winter of my life, that unbearable winter shower in Tasmania. I would always tell myself to shower before sunset; otherwise, the cold would become too much to bear. There was no heating in the bathroom, and the heating in the house was weak.
And how many tasks are there that we feel we must complete before sunset? Perhaps a work deadline, or the laundry we hung out in the morning that needs to be brought in before nightfall.
And if twilight were like the end of our breath, how many things would we feel compelled to complete before the night arrives?
