TERANG returns for its 4th edition, and for the second year at in Penang.

We’re inviting students worldwide to take part in this year’s competition and transform heritage architecture into powerful stories through light, motion, and projection.

Theme: PASAR (MARKET)

Inspired by the vibrant culture of Kuala Lumpur’s warungs and pasar streets, Warung TERANG transforms everyday urban spaces into colourful storytelling canvases through light, motion, and digital art.

We’re excited to welcome as the next artist in the Media Art Residency program with Filamen.

Max Jala will be undertaking his residency from 13th March to 13th April 2026, where he will spend a month experimenting, developing new ideas, and exploring his media art practice within the Filamen community.

Throughout the residency, audiences can expect a series of process sharings and studio explorations, offering a glimpse into the artist’s creative journey and experimentation with new media.

Stay tuned for updates and upcoming open studio sessions as Max Jala develops his work during the residency.

Projection Mapping Session — Malam Tujuh Likur

Join us for a special projection mapping activation as part of the Malam Tujuh Likur installation with Jun Ong. Inspired by the tradition of lighting pelita during the final nights of Ramadan, this activation brings light and moving images to the ground floor of GMBB, reimagining the spirit of kampung celebrations within the city.
