NUISANCE DRILLED - “Nyaman” (Single)
Available on September 5th exclusively via Bandcamp.
2025 marks 25 years of Nuisance Drilled as one of the pioneers of Malaysian sludge/doom [and most probably Southeast Asia]. To honour this quarter-century of existence, we unveil our first official single: Nyaman.
Written in the shadows of our earliest days and spearheaded with straight up classic 70s/80s proto-doom metal connotation; “Nyaman” carries the [slightly, yet polished] same weight of our 1999/2000 formation: Uncompromising, slow, gloomy and yet depressively calm. This release is both a reflection of our journey and a declaration that the spirit still burns.
For two and a half decades, we’ve remained DIY, outside the mainstream, stubbornly creating sounds/vibes that [evidently] bridge punk, metal and anything ‘monumental’ lies in between. “Nyaman” anyway is not nostalgia - it is survival and longevity.
It is also important to mention that this is the second attempt at full malay lyrics after the first, “Pembenaran” which was written in 2000.
“Nyaman” is about most of us: The mortals, who refuse to give up, despite the hardships and obstacles. Thus, this is for everyone who has been with us since the beginning. Sincerely, it means the world to us. Thank you.
