Chen Mei-Tsen, born in Taipei City in 1966, graduated in Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan. In 1990, she left for Paris for advanced studies and obtained artist status in France, where she has worked ever since 30 years. Mei-Tsen Chen's journey reflects the essence of a nomadic existence—forever moving, forever seeking.

Her art explores this quest for home, but it is not a search for a static, idealized place. Instead, Chen seeks a dwelling that merge entanglements and contradictions of urban life.

Mei Tsen's work is on show at in NYC this week. Represented by .life and curated by Tina Lai.

Through it all, blue serves as the color that grounds her art, providing a steady anchor amid the shifting landscapes of her emotional and physical journeys.

As we step into the second quarter of the year, it’s totally natural to feel a little out of sync.

🎨Maybe your creative rhythm has shifted. Maybe that big vision from January is changing. Or maybe you’re just taking stock and wondering where you’re at right now.

Wherever you are—you’re not alone.💙

As artists, we don’t move in straight lines — we move in seasons, cycles, and sudden bursts of clarity.

Join us TOMORROW (Monday the 14th at 12 Noon EST) for a gentle reset workshop ✨

Today, we're celebrating the incredible Helen Frankenthaler, born December 12, 1928.

Frankenthaler was a true trailblazer in abstract expressionism, breaking boundaries and showing the world that art is all about freedom and experimentation. Her legacy continues to inspire, even after her passing on December 27, 2011.

Let her words be a reminder to all of us: there's no right or wrong in art. The magic happens when you trust yourself and explore without limits.

❤️ Tag a fellow artist who inspires you to think outside the box!

Mary Sully (1896–1963) is enjoying, perhaps, the most unlikely museum solo show debut in all of art history. A self-taught, 20th-century Dakota Sioux woman artist whose entire life’s work sat forgotten in the family home for decades, Sully is now the subject of a fascinating posthumous exhibition at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, which recently acquired a suite of 19 of her works.

“Nobody ever took her seriously as an artist—no one in the family. They thought she was the crazy woman who just doodled up in her room,” her grandnephew Deloria said. “I think of her as the Indian Emily Dickinson.” He recognized the worth of her work, but made it his mission to ensure that others did as well.

At the Met, the drawings are shown exactly as Sully intended—thankfully, they were carefully packed away in neat groups, still with the tape she used to present them as vertical triptychs during her lifetime. Otherwise, it might have been quite a challenge to match the corresponding panels together.

Ana Mercedes Hoyos (b1942 Bogotá) was a Colombian artist celebrated for her vibrant and expressive works that drew deeply from Latin American culture, especially Colombian traditions and folklore.
Throughout her life, Hoyos traveled widely, immersing herself in diverse artistic practices, particularly during her time in Europe and Italy, where she refined her painting techniques. Her dedication and talent earned her numerous awards and distinctions, establishing her as one of Colombia's most prominent artists.

Hoyos was passionate about honoring her Latin heritage through art. Rejecting the stereotype that Latin American art must be politically focused, she instead created work that celebrated cultural identity and folkloric themes, skillfully blending personal expression with traditional motifs.
