At the 1977 SEA Games in Malaysia, Datuk Marina Chin proved that a champion’s spirit is defined as much by resilience as it is by speed. That year, she dominated the track, winning both the 100m and 200m hurdles in record-breaking times.
However, her most defining moment came during the 400m hurdles. Despite falling during the race, she didn’t give up. She got back up, finished the race, and secured second place. It is a powerful testament to the grit required to compete at the highest level and the determination to finish what you start, no matter the obstacles.
