Pet-Friendly Hidden Café in an Old Village House 📼🌿

A little escape from the usual busy café scene. James Coffee is set inside an old village house, surrounded by greenery with a koi pond that makes the whole place feel extra peaceful. 🍃

It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, catch up with friends and enjoy a cup of coffee without the city rush. Their coffee beans are also freshly ground for every order, so you get that fresh aroma with every cup. ☕️

And of course, you can bring your furkid along for the coffee date too! 🐶🐾

Heavy rain flooded Taiping Furkids Loving Home in less than an hour, sending muddy water into the dogs’ living areas. 🌧️🐶

The shelter owner immediately moved the puppies and dogs with mobility issues to higher ground. Thankfully, all the dogs were brought to safety.

When the water finally receded, three women — Puan As Jeslynaa, Sana Tarysna and Peggy Kam — stayed behind to shovel mud, wash cages and help create a clean space for the dogs to rest.

Different races, different faiths, but one thing brought everyone together: helping the dogs. 🇲🇾❤️

Unfortunately, the struggle isn’t over.

Just days after the first flood, the shelter shared that it had flooded again — before they had even finished clearing the mud from the previous one.

For a shelter caring for so many dogs, having to clean up and start over again is no small task.

“I want dogs to not have to work so hard, and not have to sniff drugs.” 🐕‍🦺🤍

That was the idea behind 10-year-old Taiwanese student Hsu Ting-wei’s award-winning invention.

After seeing airport detection and quarantine dogs sniffing for dangerous substances, he wondered if a machine could do some of the work instead.

His “Novel Artificial Electronic Nose” combines air sampling, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and AI-based odor recognition to analyse substances without opening luggage.

At the 2026 Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival, Hsu won a Gold Medal and the IFIA Best Invention Award.

He hopes the technology could eventually help screen for substances such as fentanyl and pork products that may carry African swine fever.
