Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth these past few days,
whether you came to chat, to look around, or even to feed us. 🤍
Joining this event gave me a strong realization.
In Malaysia, there are actually not that many people
who truly understand art toys or designer toys.
Many people wonder:
why can a “seemingly ordinary” handmade piece
be so expensive?
But the value of art toys
has never been just about whether it looks good or not.
It lies in the story behind the work, the world it builds,
and the layer of meaning that the creator hasn’t fully spoken out loud.
To be honest,
I’ve been reflecting on myself as well.
Maybe I’ve kept these stories
mostly for face-to-face explanations offline,
and haven’t explained them clearly enough online.
But art has never had a standard answer.
Everyone interprets it differently,
and that’s exactly why
there’s infinite room for imagination.
Over these few days, I also had many deep conversations
with my booth partner ,
one of the founders of ,
about the current state and challenges
of the art toy scene in Malaysia.
The seniors have spent many years
building the foundation for this scene.
And for our generation,
perhaps what we need to do
is to continue “educating” the market,
so more people can truly understand
what art toys are.
That’s why I’ve decided
that moving forward,
I won’t just focus on making works,
but also on sharing
the stories, thoughts, and journey behind art toys.
The biggest reminder this event gave me is this:
building a toy brand is not just about making toys,
and not just about explaining them when people ask.
It’s about letting more people know
what I’m actually trying to do.
Thank you all.
Next stop, let’s keep walking together. 🐾
