Behind this chapter of Sharifah Aini’s music journey was Alfonso Soliano, the visionary man who produced and arranged the music for her monumental album Lela Manja in 1979.

But that was only one chapter of his extraordinary legacy.

Known as the Bapa Muzik Melayu Moden, the self-taught composer, arranger and conductor redefined the sound of Malay music, bringing its melodies into rich orchestral arrangements.

This September, experience the music of a man who helped shape Malaysia’s musical identity as the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra collaborates with The Solianos, one of Malaysia’s most influential musical clans.

A TRIBUTE TO ALFONSO SOLIANO

Experience a meaningful celebration of Malaysia’s musical heritage as the MPO pays tribute to one of the country’s greatest cultural icons, Alfonso Soliano. A visionary pianist, arranger and conductor, Soliano is widely known as a pioneer who laid the foundation for the country’s music scene especially jazz. Led by Ahmad Muriz Che Rose and with The Solianos as vocalists and instrumentalists, this special performance brings his timeless works back on stage in a heartfelt homage.
