What is Batikism?

Batikism is my artistic exploration of Malaysian heritage through the visual language of batik.

Rather than replicating traditional batik, Batikism reimagines culture, history, nature, and identity into contemporary works that honour the past while embracing the present.

For me, batik is more than a pattern or a textile.

It is a language.

My latest work, “BATIKISM – Wayang Kulit Collection 1” is currently exhibited at the ‘Mosaic of Stories’ Art Exhibition, Satellite Building KL International Airport (KLIA) Terminal l
