Established in April 2014, Ballet by Nora specializes in comprehensive classical ballet training through progressive curriculum under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), London. Under the RAD syllabus, we provide safe and correct dance practice that is not only fun, but trains coordination, sense of rhythm, musicality, expression, and encourages self-confidence, individuality and poise. Examinations

are held annually with an examiner appointed by RAD, providing students with:
- international recognition from the world's largest examination board,
- qualifications that are fully accredited by local and international dance and performing arts bodies. Its Principal, Nora Ridzwan, is one of the very few RAD registered teachers in Sabah. Nora started dancing ballet at the age of 6 in England, and received further training in Kuala Lumpur, and later Kota Kinabalu where she completed her training in Advanced 2 Ballet under the RAD Syllabus at Alpha Ballet School. Nora then went on to pursue the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) under RAD which granted her the qualification to teach ballet. Ballet by Nora is located on the 3rd floor of City Mall, Jalan Lintas, Kota Kinabalu. Its two beautiful studios are professionally equipped with sprung floors, fixed barres and wall-to-wall mirrors. We take pride in providing a safe, nurturing and fun environment for our students.

And that’s a wrap for our Soloists at the Star of Canaan Dance International Ballet Competition 2026. ✨
The six days of workshops, rehearsals and rounds of competitions will undoubtedly stay with us for years to come.

Dear Ashlyn, Shanelle, June, Amanda, Sarah and Carmen, thank you for sharing your smiles, spirit and generosity on that stage, and for giving so much of yourselves to every moment.
Whether it was your first ballet competition or have done this before, you proved your courage, resilience and heart. You went above and beyond and showed up beautifully for yourselves! ❤️

A big thank you to the parents for trusting us with your girls’ training, and for supporting them every step of the way. Their achievements are just as much yours as they are theirs.

What a week. What an experience. And what a beautiful group of girls to have shared it with! 🩰✨

Proud of our Grade 2 girls! 🥰 A solid foundation is everything. Discipline meets joy, and small habits shape big possibilities. The way they learn to stand, to listen, to place each step with intention will allow them dance with confidence, resilience, and a sense of self that will stay with them for years to come.
For now, we simply get to enjoy this beautiful beginning 🤍

Since we didn’t have a year-end production this year, we’re reminiscing last year’s Nutcracker production and the moments that shaped us.
This Battle Scene makes us smile 🐭🎖️ Brought to life by our (then) Grade 1s and 2s, tiny soldiers and mischievous mice tackling one of the most pivotal moments of the story with focus, teamwork, and the sweetest touch of humour.
An intricate scene handled wonderfully, and proof that even at a young age, storytelling can shine on stage.
Ending the year smiling at memories like these that remind us how storytelling begins with courage, play, and imagination ✨.

Meet our Christmas Angels 🤍 They were tiny 6-yr-olds back then… and they handled their ‘big responsibility’ beautifully. Proving that even the youngest dancers can carry a meaningful moment on stage.
Ending the year with full hearts, and so much hope for the tiny (and mighty) dancers they’re becoming 🥰

The Christmas Party scene 🎄Where dancers different ages and levels (yes, including our wonderful adult students! 😍) came together to create something festive, lively, and full of colour.
Twenty minutes on stage, countless formations, and so many moving parts — and every single dancer played a role in making it a success.
So proud of every dancer here and how much each of them have advanced and shone this year ✨

This Snowflakes scene is one of them ❄️ A lovely reminder that snow flurries are not for the faint-hearted. Seven minutes of continuous movement, tired legs and feet, and muscle control. Sheer stamina and endurance! And still… nothing but elegance, poise, and magic from our seniors ✨
Here’s to the last few days of the year… and to new magic waiting for us in the year to come! 🤍

The Kingdom of Sweets is a great one to start with and where most of our school came together 🍭✨ Each student brought their own colour, character, and magic to this world. With so many sharing the stage, it was a beautiful reminder that each role - from solos, to duets, to ensembles - every presence mattered ❤️
As this year comes to an end, we celebrate their progress, their courage, and the beauty of dancing together 🩰
