Established in April 2014, Ballet by Nora specializes in comprehensive classical ballet training through progressive curriculum under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), London. Under the RAD syllabus, we provide safe and correct dance practice that is not only fun, but trains coordination, sense of rhythm, musicality, expression, and encourages self-confidence, individuality and poise. Examinations
are held annually with an examiner appointed by RAD, providing students with:
- international recognition from the world's largest examination board,
- qualifications that are fully accredited by local and international dance and performing arts bodies. Its Principal, Nora Ridzwan, is one of the very few RAD registered teachers in Sabah. Nora started dancing ballet at the age of 6 in England, and received further training in Kuala Lumpur, and later Kota Kinabalu where she completed her training in Advanced 2 Ballet under the RAD Syllabus at Alpha Ballet School. Nora then went on to pursue the Certificate of Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) under RAD which granted her the qualification to teach ballet. Ballet by Nora is located on the 3rd floor of City Mall, Jalan Lintas, Kota Kinabalu. Its two beautiful studios are professionally equipped with sprung floors, fixed barres and wall-to-wall mirrors.
