New Art happenings are popping up and setting the Art scene in Sabah a buzz. A quick glance at the listing will reveal exciting things happening at Lavinia Private Art Gallery, Sunrise Art Gallery, CAG Asylum, South Sea Sanctuary, Tampat Melukih -Tamparuli, Apansol Art Studio- Kota Belud and of course our very new Sabah Art Gallery (BSLS). Satellite Art corners at The Laman Seni Art site, Kinabalu

artists, Naïve Art and Hello-Hello @ Gaya Monsopiad Art and Craft and Pok’s Art Corner to name a few have become art destinations amongst tourists and locals interested in picking up smaller pieces of artwork

From delicate watercolors of Sabah’s nature and culture to vibrant abstract expressions in acrylics, oils and mixed media of local patterns ,colors, social issues, beautiful calligraphy and even some 3D Installations.We have it all here in Sabah. As the Art Tourism vibes resonate in Sabah with the approach of Malaysia Day celebrations in September, our artists will get together for the 1MCAT -THE GOLDEN 50 Art carnival to celebrate 50 years of Independence and 50 years of Sabah Art. The two day carnival will be held on 7-8th September 2013, at the new Sabah Art Gallery (BSLS) grounds, Jalan Penampang, K.K. Art displays, art demonstrations, caricature drawing and many other interactive artistic activities will engage visitors and stimulate creativity. Come on then and join in the fun. Hey guys! Although the weather today didn't turn out so well, but nonetheless we all had a great time together.

To everyone who participated and contributed in the art carnival, to those who supported us, and to those who came to the event, we would like to say THANK YOU! We truly appreciate everything that has been done. Without your support, we would not have made this event a success!

Art brought us together, so here’s to many more in the future! Cheers! :)
