🎨✨ The 12th Installation Art by the Bay @ KK 2025 opened with an inspiring turnout of nearly 100 guests, including artists, families, friends, visitors, and tourists.

The launch was graced by Guest of Honour, Puan Norita Binti Tani, representing KePKAS Permanent Secretary Datuk Josie Lai, alongside distinguished guests from Tourism Malaysia Sabah, Sabah Art Gallery, Nature Inspiration Gallery (UCSF), Gallery Azman Hashim, and Balai Seni Visual Negara Malaysia.

Carrying the theme “𝐄𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 – 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬”, this year’s edition transforms Taman Chong Thien Vun into a creative showcase of eco-art installations made from upcycled materials, highlighting the power of art in driving awareness and sustainable action.

The exhibition runs daily until 16 September 2025, 9AM – 6PM at Taman Chong Thien Vun, Kota Kinabalu. Don’t miss the chance to explore these meaningful artworks!

It is that exciting time of the year once again, as we proudly present the 12th Installation Art by the Bay @ KK 2025.
Since its inception, this annual programme has provided a vital platform for artists to showcase their creativity while diversifying the local art scene with installation art — a form still relatively rare in Sabah. The event also carries a broader mission: to position Kota Kinabalu as a vibrant art city and to spark meaningful conversations through creativity.

True to tradition, this year’s theme continues to focus on environmental awareness. All showcased installations are created from recycled and upcycled materials, highlighting both artistic innovation and sustainability. Importantly, once the artworks have been exhibited, our collaborators will recycle the materials once again, ensuring that the spirit of sustainability extends beyond the exhibition itself.

Over the years, Installation Art by the Bay has grown into a premier international event at the intersection of art and sustainability. Now in its 12th year, it remains a hallmark of Kota Kinabalu’s art and tourism scene. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment Sabah and Tourism Malaysia (Sabah Office), whose assistance has been instrumental in sustaining and expanding this programme.

The public can look forward to experiencing an inspiring range of installations and meeting the talented artists behind them. We warmly invite everyone to join us from 13th to 16th September 2025 at Taman Chong Vun Thien, Kota Kinabalu, to witness this unique celebration of creativity, community, and environmental consciousness.
