수업을 통해 만난 귀한 우리 쌤들과 Sketch lah! 모임을 만들고 지난 수요일 말레이시아 Kulai로 첫 번째 스케치여행을 다녀왔다. 늘 가보고 싶던 곳이었는데 실제로 가보니 내가 생각했던 것보다 훨씬 더 멋진 곳이었다. 그날의 여행이 너무 좋아 우리는 벌써 다음 여행을 계획했다는 ㅎㅎㅎ
Our journey continues!

I started the Sketch Lah! group with my wonderful students and last Wednesday, we went on our very first sketching trip to Kulai.

It was a place I had always wanted to visit and when I finally got there, it was even more charming than I had imagined. We enjoyed the trip so much that we’ve already started planning our next adventure! 😆

잘 닦인 길을 따라가는 건 현명해 보인다
빠르고 효율적이고 검증된 길

미지의 길을 스스로 헤쳐나가는 건
반대로 미련해 보일 때가 있다
수많은 시행착오와
느린 걸음을 견뎌야 하는 일

하지만 그렇게 만들어 낸 길은
가장 확실한 ‘내 것’이 된다

Following a well-worn path seems wise —
quick, efficient and proven.
But forging your own way through the unknown
can look foolish at times.
All that trial and error,
all that slow and grinding progress.
And yet, the path you carve out that way
becomes the most undeniably yours.

문제에 가까이 다가가 몰두할수록
오히려 더 복잡해지고
답이 보이지 않을 때가 있다.

그럴 땐 몇 걸음 떨어져
조금 더 넓은 시야로 바라보면
생각지도 못한 방식으로
풀리기도 한다.

어쩌면 진짜 문제는
문제가 아니라
그 문제를 붙잡고 있는
나의 마음인지도 모른다.

The more deeply we immerse ourselves in a problem
the more complicated it can become
until we can no longer see the answer.

In those moments,
taking a few steps back
and looking at it from a wider perspective
may reveal an unexpected way through.

Perhaps the real problem
is not the problem itself
but the mind that keeps holding on to it.

우리 쌤들 10주 동안 고마웠어요! 🫶🏻❤️

스케치하고 있던 직원 두 분 중 한 분이
퇴근하시는 바람에
황급하게 인증사진 찍음 ㅋㅋ

공간도 이쁘고
직원분들도 친절하시신데다
커피도 맛있었다!
또 와야지~~

Cafe sketching with my evening class students that we postponed to the weekend.
Thank you for the past 10 weeks!
One of the two staff whom I was sketching had to leave early so I quickly took a photo of him haha.
The space was beautiful, the staff were so friendly and the coffee was delicious too. Definitely coming back again! 😍

I wish the rain had cooled things down but it’s been hot and humid all day. 🥵
Had lunch and coffee at somewhere cool then finished up the sketch afterwards.

비가 시원하게 한바탕 내려줬으면 좋으련만
하루 종일 덥고 후덥지근하다.

시원한 곳에서
점심 먹고
커피 한 잔 한 뒤
마저 완성 ~~
